The short version. Timberblock is a puzzle game. We do not ask for your email or a password. Your progress is stored in your own browser. When you finish a Daily Seed or a weekly event, or join a friends league, your moves, score and a display name go to our server to rank you on the leaderboard, under a random ID - not your name. If advertising is switched on, our advertising partner may use cookies to choose which ads you see.
What is stored, and where
- On your device only. Your best scores, your daily streak, your unfinished game, your chosen theme and your sound setting are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device unless you create an optional profile.
- Optional profile. If you choose to create a profile, a display name you pick and your scores are stored on our server under a random code. We do not ask for an email address or a password, and the display name does not have to be your real name.
- Leaderboards. When you finish a Daily Seed or a weekly event, the game sends our server your moves, your score and the display name shown on the board ("Guest" plus four characters if you play as a guest), under a random ID created on your device. We replay the moves to check the score is genuine. Rankings are public; the ID is not shown to anyone.
- Friends leagues. If you create or join a league, the league's name, its 6-character code and the display names of its members are stored on our server, and shown to everyone who has the code.
- No accounts, no tracking profiles. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share personal data.
Advertising
If advertising is enabled on this site, we use Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and you can review how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any personalised advertising cookie is set, and can change or withdraw that consent at any time from the same notice.
Analytics
We do not run third-party analytics. Once a day the game sends our own server the random ID above and the date you first played - nothing else. We use it only to count how many people play each day and how many come back the next day and the next week. We do not record your IP address with it, and it is never combined with advertising data.
Fonts
The game loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser's request to Google's font servers includes your IP address, as any web request does. See Google's privacy policy.
Children
Timberblock is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Clear your browser's site data for this domain to erase everything stored locally.
- If you created a profile, contact us with your profile code and we will delete it.
- Decline advertising consent where the notice is shown, and you will see non-personalised ads instead.
Changes
We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes materially.
