About Timberblock
A free daily block puzzle that runs in your browser.
Play today's boardWhat it is
Timberblock is an 8×8 block puzzle. You drag pieces onto the board, fill whole rows or columns to clear them, and keep going until nothing fits. The rules take ten seconds to learn, but planning several placements ahead takes much longer to master.
Every day at midnight UTC a new Daily Seed board is dealt. Everyone in the world gets the same pieces in the same order, and you get one attempt. That makes every score directly comparable: if you beat your friend, it wasn't luck of the draw.
Why it was made
Block puzzles are among the most played games on phones, but most of them are buried under full-screen ads, timers and pay-to-continue prompts. Timberblock started as an attempt to make the version we wanted to play ourselves: fast to load, fair, and built around one shared daily challenge you can talk about with friends, the way people share word-game results.
What makes it different
- One board for everyone. The daily board is generated from the date, so it is identical on every device, even offline.
- Fair leaderboards. When you finish the daily, the server replays your moves with the same game engine and records only the score it verifies. Made-up scores don't get on the board.
- No sign-up. No email or password needed. Your progress stays on your device.
- Works offline. After your first visit the game runs without a connection, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.
- Many ways to play. Classic, Professional, Zen, an endless Adventure map, weekly events, friends leagues and an archive of every past daily board.
- Accessible. Colourblind symbols, bigger pieces, and full keyboard controls.
How it's funded
Timberblock is free. To pay for hosting and continued development, the site may show a small number of ads. They never cover the board or interrupt a game in progress. See the privacy policy for how advertising works here.
Who's behind it
Timberblock is made by an independent developer. It is not affiliated with any other block-puzzle game or publisher. Bug reports, ideas and feedback are always welcome. Every message is read.
